Itinerary Details

Day 1:Arrival in Srinagar

One of the first serene locations we would encounter would be Srinagar; this would be the first place that we would cross through while running along the Leh Manali highway. Srinagar is host to various kinds of recreational activities, and the Shikara ride is one of the most primary ones we know about. If possible, we would visit the Shankaracharya temple and the Mughal gardens. We can travel around, and the travellers can witness the culture as well as the lifestyle of the locals. We would have our night stay in Srinagar. Dinner Included.

Day 2: Srinagar to Kargil

Being the first day of the trip at such high altitudes, we would limit the riding today to let you acclimatize to the weather around you.  Then we would move on forward for our ride from Srinagar to Kargil. This would be one of the easier rides, and the riders would get to witness the scenic valleys through which you would be riding. The distance would be around 200 km’s and would take about 7 to 8 hours. We would also get the chance to visit Sonmarg while along the route. The snow-cladded mountains and lush greenery of the grasslands would surely help you relax. Further along, we would pass through Zo Ji La Pass, and the adventure of crossing these mountain passes at the height of about 3,528 meters would surely give you an adrenaline rush.

Further riding would lead us to be in Dras, where we would visit the Dras War Memorial, and further, we would also plan to visit the Kargil War Memorial as well. Pathar Sahab Gurudwara is also situated along the way, after a day of riding we would rest for the night in Kargil for our next day of riding.

Day 3: Kargil To Leh

Our ride the next day towards Leh, Ladakh, would be a stretch of about 220 km, and would take about 7 to 8 hours of easy riding. You would be able to witness the change of landscapes and vegetation with your own eyes, with the starting roads running through lush greenery at the start of the journey and further showcasing the signs of low vegetation and the general feel of Leh Ladakh. The ride would be a smooth one with impeccable roads; by late evening, we would be in Leh Town and rest at our night-stay hotels. If we reach early, our riders can travel to nearby native markets and gain a feel for the culture of Leh.

Day 4: Leh to Nubra

The ride ahead of this point would be adventurous and exhilarating, so let the fun begin with a trip towards the mighty Kahr Dung La, which, as per BRO, has been one of the highest motorable bypasses. The place is only about 40 odd km from our starting point.

The way through the mountains provides the most exceptional and picturesque views of the valleys. There is no place quite like this anywhere else, and the wind running against the Tibetan flags would surely add a shade of vivid colour to the vistas you would witness.

This road would expose you to some of the most beautiful natural landscapes, and create memories to cherish for a lifetime. Further along, we would ride towards the direction of Nubra Valley. Once we arrive in Nubra, we would plan our night stay. Our night stay and rest would be in Nubra only.

Day 5: Nubra-Pangong

Day 5 of your trip you would be able to witness why the Nubra Valley has been regarded as the Orchard of the Desert. The whole Nubra Valley is full of picturesque views and vistas, that would keep on forcing you to click photos incessantly. While the landscapes are pretty inhabitable and cold, to be honest, but their beauty would leave you amazed at the marvels of nature.

The remembrances of this place would stay with you lifelong; its bare beauty and the contrast its high-rise mountains form against the blue skies is not a sight easy to forget. Further, we would ride towards the Pangong Lake and would rest in an overnight camp.

Day 6: Pangong-Hanle

The day would start with beautiful scenic views of Pangong Lake, and the sun shining its clairvoyant through the surface of the lake. Further, you can witness the beauty of the lake, take photographs, and cherish the natural beauty of this natural advent.

The surface of the lake showcases iridescent shades, and the sun's rays further increase the beauty of the water body. Further, we would start our ride to Han le, which is a distance of about 150 km and would take about 8 hours. By the evening, we would have reached Chushul. We would visit Rezang and then have an overnight stay at Hanle.

Day 7: Hanle-Umlingla Pass-Hanle

After a hearty breakfast, we would start in our endeavour to reach the highest motorable road today. Umling La Pass is situated in the Changthang Valley of Ladakh. About a 100 km’s from Hanle and towards the settlement of Demchok between Koyul Lungpa and the Indus River. Be ready and attend to any issues with your vehicles beforehand, as most of the route today would be along the high-altitude mountains.

Within two hours, we would have ascended to a height of about 4500 meters, and further, we would reach towards the Umling Pass and spend some time there as well. We would then return to Hanle for our overnight stay.

Day 8: Hanle-Pugga Valley-Leh

After our night stay in Hanle, the next day we would ride towards the Puga Valley. Puga Valley has been an intriguing spot for tourists and researchers for years and years, thanks to its geothermal activities. Situated around an expanse of about 30 km, the Puga Valley is a paradise for nature lovers.

Further, we would continue our journey towards Leh, and, along the way, visit the Mahe monastery in between the routes. Then our overnight stay would be in Leh.

Day 9: Leh to Jispa

We would start our return journey. While our minds and hearts would be consumed by the great beauty of the place, it is only inevitable that we would have to return. While en route, we would have the chance to visit Tanglang Pass as well as the Zanskar range.

We would ride across Gata Loops, a sequence of about 22 hairpin bends. By the evening, we would reach Jispa and reach our overnight camps. The sombre night would help you relax in the shade of a star-studded sky and have a good, relaxing sleep.

Day 10: Jispa to Manali

At this juncture in our return trip, we would focus on getting riders to Manali. With the roads again showcasing a change of landscapes and nature surrounding the roads, we would also witness the valleys of the Chandra and Bhaga rivers. En route, we would be able to cross through Keylong and Sisiu villages; further towards Manali, we would cross the Atal tunnel. Our overnight stay would be in Manali.
