How I Saw 5 cities in 7 days Without Feeling Rushed - Customer Story
This is not a usual blog from RenTrip Rather this is a testimonial from Our Customer who has been able to execute the trip of his dreams with our Seld Drive Rental Cars.
Testimonial
Through the medium of this blog, I would like to put forth my sheer gratitude for the RenTrip team and the opportunity they have given to me to share my perspective from their Company. I rented a Self Drive Car from RenTrip in Bangalore and planned a trip for one week across the southern region of the country. Since I had to mainly travel on highways, I sought an SUV In which i could comfortably cruise on highways and drive for longer durations without any issues. I tried my best to seek a provider who could easily provide all such facilities and further help me travel easily as well but i didn't have any luck until i found out about RenTrip. I found out about RenTrip through an Advertisement and talked to them about the plan for my trip. They understood my perspective, and within a few hours, they were able to provide me with a few prospective car options.
I chose a Ford Eco Sport and communicated my need for a rental. They swiftly arranged a location for pickup and I must say they were really quick with their correspondence. I picked up my car in Bangalore, it was spick and span and ready for my use and then i went along to visit the first destination on my list Mysore.
Mysore
Mysore is only about 143 km from Bangalore, and I was able to cover the distance in about 3 hours. Once in Mysore, I was surprised by the travel opportunities I had, to explore the local culture. So, as per my plans, I started with. Mysore Palace, and then after visiting the palace I went to Bandipur National Park and the Channapatnam Toy Village.
Beyond the travelling, a few of my friends had already made me aware of the scrumptious local dishes of Mysore, and I must say that I had a splendid time eating through Besibelle Bath, Raagi and Akki Roti, Payasam, and famous Biryani as well. Done with my excursion in Mysore, I packed my bags and went on ahead to spend the night while driving on my trip to Ooty
Ooty
Scenic Views, splendid Tea Gardens, Waterfalls, and the presence of all such beautiful landscapes in a single location astounded me. Even during my night drive from Mysore, I was excited to drive along the winding roads of Ooty, surrounded by the most vivacious greens around. I reached Ooty late in the night and went to my hotel and slept. In the morning, I was enthused to start my adventure, and I went along to visit a few places during my two-day visit such as the Ooty Lake, Pykara Falls, Tiger Hill, Kamraj Sagar Lake and the most famous rose garden as well.
Being a foodie, I had to try a few local dishes that were famous, so I explored the markets and ate some delicious Kebabas, Chicken Rolls, as well as renowned paneer Fingers. Although I planned to vacate the hotel and travel along to the next destination as soon as the evening descended, I let go of the idea and went ahead to rest a little in my hotel. after a couple of hours rest, I again started travelling towards the next destination on my list, Kodaikanal, which is a drive of about 6 hours and 257 km.
Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu
The views are perfect in Kodaikanal for those who want to explore the offbeat destinations of South India. The location is 2000m above sea level. I visited here for two days as I had planned a few adventurous activities for myself. Kodaikanal offers the best options for hiking, Sightseeing, Bird Watching, and a few other activities as well.
Here are a few places you can visit in Kodaikanal: Pillar Rocks, Dolphin Nose, Kodai Lake, Coakers Walk, and Green Valley View.
Over the days of my visit, I tried Israeli cuisine, which is quite famous here. I also tried a blend of different cuisines, such as Cheese Cakes, Momos, Thukpa, Bhajji, and Biryanis. As my 3rd day ended, I planned to commence my return journey and went on to Coimbatore.
Coimbatore
The distance between Kodaikanal and Coimbatore was only about 180 km, and only after a drive of around 5 hours, was I in Coimbatore. I must say that it was a bit of a long stretch, and hence, as soon as I entered Coimbatore, I booked a hotel, and I slept. The next day, I wanted to explore the local cuisine of the city, and hence, I went on to explore the local markets and tasted Arisi Paruppu Sadam, Pallipalayam Chicken, Elanner Payasam and Paniyarams. Once I had satisfied all my cravings, in two days I was here I went on to visit places such as Monkey Falls, Palakkad fort, Perur Petetshwar Temple, Siruvani Waterfalls and Ketti Valley.
After a day's worth of travelling in Coimbatore, I started driving back during the night of the 4th day, as I had planned to travel through Coorg along the way as well.
Coorg
It was about 319 Km from my location, and during the night, I covered the distance fairly quickly and reached it by the middle of the day in Coorg. Coorg has been renowned as the Scotland of India, and hence, I was excited to bear witness to the diverse beauty of the place. A vacation along the close proximity of splendid tea estates. Here are a few places I visited along the way: Abbey Falls, Chelvara Falls, Iruppu, Raja’s Seat and others.
The local oranges grown here are quite famous; hence, I bought a few kilos to return them. I also bought a few other local spices, coffee beans, and indigenous Jewellery. On my way back I travelled through Mandya and Ramanagar and back to Bangalore, the return from Coimbatore with my travelling spree at Coorg till Bangalore took me two days. I returned the vehicle the next day as I had arrived quite late. Once my rental was complete, I was asked for a review, and the RenTrip team asked me to share my story on the Nomdeiclan community page and asked me to write about a few of the tactics I use to manage such long drives.
Here are a few of them
- I always Carry snacks and water crates along with me
- To ensure internet connectivity I carry a 5g dongle with as well.
- To be able to easily travel and carry out transactions I always make sure that I have cash with me.
- I carry a bunch of debit and Credit cards to easily manage all kinds of transactions.
